Gill Cloak - Artifact •

These gray colored diaphanous cloaks are beautiful but otherwise unremarkable on land. In the water, however, once the wearer commits one mote to the cloak, the translucent membrane spreads out behind the wearer and collects air dissolved in the nearby water and allows the character to breathe underwater, although it does not let the wearer speak or grant any other capabilities.

The Artifact is forged in reverence to the deep sea spirits from whom it draws its power. Deep Sea intelligent creatures that are familiar with the lore behind this common Artifact appreciate the masterful craftsmanship and reverence that is part of building these items. When interacting with creatures that respect, the wearer gains a +2 bonus on all social actions that attempt to genuinely build friendship and cooperation between them and the wearer.

GM Note: Gave this little Artifact a very slight situational boost, just some neat Lore that’s a throwback to a previous age when those on the surface attempted to build bridges with those beneath it. It gives the artifact some historical connection instead of just being a flat utility Artifact (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Some creatures in Creation may still honor those bonds and appreciate the effort surface dwellers take to connect with them, others not so much.
